Second Summer School UL_NTNU

The 2nd Summer School on Research in Aluminum Production took place from October 7 to 10 at Laval University. The Laval members of the Norwegian-Canadian Partnership in Research and Education in Primary Production of Aluminum partnership were proud to receive a delegation of 13 students and researchers from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). On the program of this second Summer School: first, a whole day where students and researchers from both institutions presented the latest advances in their research projects. The second and third day of the Summer School were paired with the REGAL 2019 Student Day. The Norwegian participants were able to attend 5 training courses offered by experts in the field of aluminum, 6 REGAL student conferences and a poster session. The last day was reserved for a visit to the Alcoa smelter, located in Deschambault.

About the Norwegian-Canadian Partnership in Research and Education in Primary Production of Aluminum partnership

The Norwegian-Canadian partnership involves a team of researchers, students and postdoctoral fellows from the Laval University, as well as the equivalent of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). In order to allow students from both sides of the Atlantic to benefit from the expertise developed by each of the institutions involved, different exchanges and courses are planned, as well as summer schools.
